Day 1 – Dublin:
Board the Grand Hibernian in Dublin where your journey begins. You are welcomed with a champagne toast in the Observation Car followed by a traditional afternoon tea and the train leisurely winds towards Cork. Once arrived, enjoy a short walking tour of nearby Cobh with a renowned local historian before venturing to the Cobh Heritage Centre. Later, rejoin the train for the first of many exquisite journeys, followed by coffee and liqueurs.
Day 2 – Cork:
Awake in your private luxury cabin and enjoy a leisurely breakfast before choosing one of two activities. Choose a guided walk through the city of Cork and sample Cork delicacies, or choose to head to the world-famous Jameson Distillery for an exclusive tour followed by a tasting. Lunch is served on the train as we travel onwards to Killarney. Enjoy a ride in a traditional jaunting car through the National Park to the beautiful lake by Ross Castle and board the Lily of Killarney boat for a scenic tour. Enjoy some free time exploring the cobbled streets of Killarney before dinner, drinks and entertainment on board.
Day 3 – Limerick:
The morning is your to relax and watch the glorious countryside from Observation Car or your own cabin as you enjoy breakfast. Once arrived in Limerick, immerse yourself in a part of Ireland that most normally never get to see and discover the art, architecture and sculpture of this secret town. The visit concludes with a unique lunch before heading back to the train for dinner.
Day 4 – Westport:
Linger over a leisurely breakfast before arriving in the Georgian town of Westport just before noon. Meet a local guide and be given a tour of this quaint, leafy town. Lunch is served at a local tavern before visiting Westport House, a stately home with rich interiors over 350 years old. Admire the views, take a stroll and perhaps catch a hawk-flying display. After a day spent exploring, it’s time to head back to the train for a gourmet dinner.
Day 5 – Dublin:
The day begins with breakfast before we arrive at Dublin’s docklands for a tour of the Irish Emigration Museum. Return to the train where new passengers are welcomed on board and lunch is served as we head towards Belfast. Here we visit Hilsborough Castle, the official Northern Ireland residence of HM Queen Elizabeth II, where lunch is served in the Drawing Room. Rejoin the train after a glorious day for dinner and drinks.
Day 6 – Kilkenny:
The morning is yours to relax as the train heads towards Waterford. Later that afternoon, explore the historic attractions of Kilkenny such as Butler House nestled in the vibrant city where your guide offers an enticing tour of the Medieval Mile Museum. With any time spare, take a look inside Kilkenny Castle, Canice’s Cathedral or simply stroll the cobbled streets. Later that day it’s time to head back to the Grand Hibernian for your final feast followed by after-dinner entertainment in the Observation Car.
Day 7 – Dublin:
As the train heads back to Dublin, Breakfast is served before your journey concludes.

We will contact you one to 10 working days after you have paid to confirm your booking, take further details of those travelling and send your itinerary. In the rare instance your booking cannot be fulfilled for any reason, such as the operator cancelling a journey or anything else beyond our control, we will be in touch with alternative options or will refund your payment.
All prices shown are for one adult ticket. Sleeper journeys are based on two adults sharing accommodation. Single occupancy of cabins may incur additional charge.

As an authorised ticketing agent of luxury train journeys, we may need to pass some of your details (such as your name and dietary requirements) on to the train operators in order to complete your booking. This is done so the operators can add you to their guest list, send you your tickets and ensure the meals served to you onboard meet your dietary requirements. By booking with LuxuryTrainTickets.com, you are agreeing that you allow such necessary details to be shared with the operators under the cause of legitimate interest. There are a limited number of private tables and cabin types onboard. While we keep our website updated regularly, there may be occasions when private tables or cabin types become fully booked meaning we are unable to fulfil your booking requirements. Should this be the case, we will contact you to discuss alternative options and refund any payments made.
We have the right to refuse the request of a deposit when a journey is scheduled to depart in less than 16 weeks. If you choose to book with a deposit you must pay the remaining balance in full 15 weeks before departure at the latest. Should you fail to pay the remaining balance 15 weeks prior to departure, you will forfeit your deposit and your booking. Deposits are accepted by request. Most journeys require a 25% deposit to secure a booking however some specialist journeys do require a 50% deposit. Please contact us for confirmation.
Tickets are sent electronically around 5 days before departure. You will not receive tickets or any form of 'gift pack' in the post. This is in an attempt to reduce paper use and do our part for the environment.
