ABTA & ATOL protection

LuxuryTrainTickets.com only works with operators that are either ATOL or ABTA protected. It is our policy that the operators we work with are protected to ensure no loss to our LuxuryTrainTickets.com customers.

LuxuryTrainTickets.com is a reseller meaning we are able to offer journeys from multiple operators all at a much more competitive price than going direct. This is due to a lower price we have negotiated with the operators after a partnership spanning many years.

Unlike some travel agencies, LuxuryTrainTickets.com does not hold your money for any length of time and all bookings made are passed through to the operator almost instantly.

Therefore if any operators were to go into administration, you can rest assured your money is protected. And since LuxuryTrainTickets.com does not hold your money, if LuxuryTrainTickets.com were to go into administration, you would already be protected by the operator.

Cancellations by operators

LuxuryTrainTickets.com is a reseller of journeys and therefore would not make any cancellations directly. Journey cancellations are very rare and are made directly by the operator. LuxuryTrainTickets.com will always inform customers of any cancellations as soon as possible and offer the appropriate refunds or alternative journeys.

Cancellation due to COVID-19

Should your pre-booked journey be cancelled due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) by the operator, you will be entitled to either a refund, a choice of an alternative date for the same journey or credit to use towards any other journey.

All decisions are made by the operators and LuxuryTrainTickets.com will endeavour to contact customers as soon as possible to inform them if a journey has been cancelled.

Should you opt for a refund, your money should return to the account you paid with in around 10 working days, however this depends on when the operator releases their funds. LuxuryTrainTickets.com will keep all customers up to date in terms of the progress of their refunds.

Cancellations & amendments by the customer

Customers may make amendments to their journey or even cancel at any time, however there may be fees depending on how close to your journey departure these changes are made. These costs for amendments and cancellations are outlined by the individual operators and not by LuxuryTrainTickets.com.

When booking a luxury journey, the operator may need to add additional carriages, schedule more tickets for locations outlined on the journey itinerary such as country houses or hotels, or arrange for additional food and drink to be brought aboard as per your booking. Making amendments close to a journey departure may therefore incur a cost to the operator.

We will apply any monies you have already paid to us towards settling any cancellation charge(s) (and to the extent your payments exceed the sum due, we will refund the balance).

No refunds will be given for passengers not travelling or for unused services.

Belmond British Pullman, VSOE, Grand Hibernian and Royal Scotsman cancellation and amendment fees

If your journey is cancelled by the operator

If your journey is cancelled by the operator for any reason, you will have the option of a full refund, credit to use towards any journey on LuxuryTrainTickets.com, or where possible the option to reschedule to a different journey.
