Explore the latest Royal Scotsman Train costs. Belmond's Royal Scotsman train takes passengers on a grand tour of the Scottish Highlands in the most luxurious way possible. Guests can choose from a wide range of itineries ranging from two nights up to seven.
Royal Scotsman prices start from £6,400/$8,425/€7,300 per person for a two-night tour (e.g Taste of The Highlands), £8,950/$11,826/€10,571 per person for a three-night tour (e.g. Western Scenic Wonders), and £25,950/$34,280/€30,648 per person for a seven-night tour (e.g. Grand Western Scenic Wonders). These prices are based on two people sharing.
There is a choice of a Twin Cabin or Double Cabin onboard, however, the ticket price remains the same no matter which one you choose. Prices are dynamic, and fluctuate based on availability. Single cabins are no longer available on this train.

Taking passengers on a number of different routes across Scotland, every journey includes a different excursion on each day of the trip. One day you may visit an area of natural beauty, another you may be treated to a VIP tour of a stately home, garden or distillery. Each of the journeys vary with regards to the routes and excursions, but all offer the same unforgettable adventure.
Due to the unpredictable Scottish weather, it is recommended to bring a warm, waterproof jacket for outdoor excursions, as well as sensible shoes for hiking. For relaxing onboard, opt for casual, comfortable attire. Every journey features at least one Gala Dinner, which requires formal wear, but all other dinners have a smart-casual dress code
Most dietary requirements can be accommodated by the kitchen team, such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free. Upon booking, we will be in touch to collect any dietary requests you may have, and the chef will be informed of this. Unfortunately, the chef is unable to offer meals requiring strict religious observance in preparation
The space in the cabins is limited, so we recommend one suitcase and one carry-on bag per guest. The cabins feature storage space under each bed, measuring 71cm x 23cm. Any extra luggage that cannot be stored in your cabin will be safely stored at the Balmoral Hotel, which is next to Edinburgh Waverley Station
Children are permitted on board. Children under the age of 11 at the time of travel will receive a 20% discount of the ticket price, and infants under the age of 2 can travel for free, provided that parents bring their own food and bassinet. For family bookings, we recommend an interconnecting cabin. This is available on request.
It is important to note that the atmosphere on boad has been cultivated to appeal to adult passengers. This means that it is up to the train manager to decide if children are permitted to accompany the adults in the restaurant and bar cars.
The cabins onboard the Royal Scotsman are spacious yet cosy making them the ideal retreat after a day of exploring. During the day, passengers can lounge in the solitude of their cabin if they prefer, or head to the Observation Car to enjoy the magnificent views, which is open all day.
Each cabin features plush fabrics, and comfortable beds, and at night, the train will stop at a private stabling point, so you can sleep deeply throughout the night and not miss any Highland scenery!
With large picture windows that gaze out over the ever-changing landscapes as well as a dressing table, full-length wardrobe, ceiling fan, toiletries and fresh towels, the Royal Scotsman cabins can be compared to that of a fine hotel suite.
