The Cheltenham Gold Cup is the first major horse race of the year, so get a gallop on if you’d like to book a place on this trip – it’s always a sell‑out.
Step aboard the Northern Belle over a red carpet laid across the platform at London Paddington, where one of the liveried stewards will serve you a sparkling Mimosa cocktail.
A delicious three‑course brunch is then served as you browse your copy of the Racing Post, study the form and plan how best to outsmart the bookies by picking the day’s winners.
The Northern Belle is scheduled to arrive at Evesham Station shortly after 11 am, where a vintage steam train will be waiting to whisk you the final 15 miles to the racecourse.
After an afternoon in the Premier Club Enclosure – with access to the Parade Ring and magnificent views over the finishing line – you’ll return to a champagne reception, complete with canapés and caviar blinis.
As you make your way back to London, the chefs will serve a sumptuous five‑course dinner accompanied by fine wines – and, of course, Northern Belle’s famous Great British cheeseboard.
The Gold Cup may fall on Friday the 13th in 2026, but your luck is certain to be in aboard the Northern Belle. After all, everyone’s a winner on Britain’s most celebrated train!
Often referred to as the Blue Riband of jump racing, the Gold Cup stands as the pinnacle of the annual Cheltenham Festival, drawing fans from across the globe.
As the world’s most lucrative non-handicap steeplechase, it featured a prize pool of £647,000 in 2025, with the victorious “Inothewayurthinkin” taking home £364,000.
