La Dolce Vita Orient Express is a luxury sleeper train operated by Orient Express, separate from the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, offering multi-day journeys through Italy. Inspired by the golden age of Italian travel and cinema, it combines restored carriages with contemporary Italian design, visiting some of Italy's most celebrated destinations.
La Dolce Vita operates routes across Italy including Rome to Venice, Rome to Palermo, and journeys taking in destinations such as Florence, Siena, the Amalfi Coast and Montalcino. New routes are added seasonally. Contact our team for the current timetable and available journeys.
Your ticket includes private cabin accommodation, all meals and drinks on board, and the curated experiences and destination visits listed in your specific journey. The train features restaurant carriages serving regional Italian cuisine, a bar car, and a lounge car.
They are distinct trains operated by different companies. The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is operated by Belmond and uses authentic restored 1920s and 1930s carriages across Europe. La Dolce Vita Orient Express is operated by Orient Express (SNCF group) and focuses exclusively on Italy, with a more contemporary Italian aesthetic. Both offer exceptional experiences, the choice depends on whether you want a pan-European or Italy-focused journey.
No. L'Orient Express is a separate new train also operated by the Orient Express brand, launching in 2027 for pan-European journeys. La Dolce Vita Orient Express is already operating and focuses on Italy. They share the Orient Express brand but are entirely different trains and itineraries.
La Dolce Vita is a relatively new train with growing demand and a limited number of cabins. Popular Italian routes, particularly summer and autumn departures, sell out quickly. We recommend booking as early as possible. Contact our team for current availability.
