A visit to the Eye on the Tiger exhibition from London’s Royal Albert Hall. A boat ride to the tropical island of Langkawi for a stay at the award-winning The Datai Langkawi.

Day One - Singapore

Your rail voyage begins with an overnight stay at the iconic Raffles Hotel, the renowned birthplace of the Singapore Sling and a favoured retreat of literary greats such as Somerset Maugham and Noël Coward.

Settle into your luxurious suite before making your way to the elegant East India Room for a private reception.

Ahead of your journey, enjoy an exclusive five-minute film premiere featuring Britain’s Ray Winstone, presented in support of Save Wild Tigers.

Day Two - Gemas

Step aboard the striking green and gold carriages of the Eastern & Oriental Express at Woodlands Station, Singapore.

Your air-conditioned cabin awaits—a haven of polished cherrywood panelling, vibrant Thai silks, and intricate Malaysian embroidery. As the train glides through Malaysia’s lush, untamed landscapes, relax and take in the ever-changing jungle scenery. Enjoy a delectable afternoon tea served in your cabin by your dedicated steward.

As evening falls, dress for a sophisticated dinner in the Restaurant Car, where you’ll savour an exquisite menu curated by the train’s renowned chef, André Chiang. Conclude your night with onboard entertainment and a perfectly crafted nightcap.

Day Three - Taman Negara

Early this morning, you arrive at Merapoh Station. After breakfast, step off the train to embark on one of three extraordinary excursions.

Taman Negara National Park, dating back 130 million years, is one of the oldest tropical rainforests in the world. Venture deep into its lush wilderness to explore the habitat of the critically endangered Malayan tiger and the vital conservation efforts to protect its future. Alternatively, join a nature photographer and conservationist for an immersive wildlife experience, or explore the breathtaking beauty of the rainforest’s magnificent caves. Meet local villagers and gain fascinating insights from dedicated experts before returning to the train for lunch.

As the journey continues, enjoy a leisurely afternoon watching the scenery unfold—passing rice paddies, swaying palm trees, and rural Malaysian villages along the jungle line. In the evening, savour a delicious dinner before unwinding with lively local entertainment in the Piano Bar Car.

Day Four - Penang

Enjoy breakfast on board before stepping off the train for the crossing to Penang.* Here, you’ll explore two of the most historic landmarks in the heart of George Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Travel by traditional trishaw to the iconic Cheah Kongsi Temple, a breathtaking architectural gem normally closed to the public. You’ll be welcomed by expert guides for an exclusive tour of this remarkable site. Your trishaw journey then continues to the famous ‘Cheong Fatt Tze’ – The Blue Mansion.

At the Blue Mansion, meet the current owner and conservator for a fascinating insight into its rich history. Witness a traditional Malaysian indigo batik display and a demonstration of the intricate craft of creating and applying these exquisite designs to fabric. You’ll also have the unique opportunity to view captivating images from the ‘Eye on the Tiger’ photographic exhibition, previously showcased at London’s Royal Albert Hall, and meet the curator.

Rejoin the train to celebrate your final night on board. After lunch, a private car transfer will take you to the port town of Kuala Perlis, where you’ll board a boat to the enchanting island of Langkawi. Upon arrival, a car transfer will take you to The Datai Langkawi, one of Asia’s most celebrated luxury resorts. Check into your elegant accommodation and spend the rest of the evening at your leisure.

*For those who prefer to stay on board, an indulgent and leisurely Champagne breakfast will be served in the comfort of the train.

Day Five - The Datai, Langkawi

Nestled within a 10-million-year-old rainforest, the resort provides a tranquil wellness sanctuary overlooking Datai Bay—an idyllic beach recognised by National Geographic as one of the world’s top ten. Spend the day at your leisure, unwinding in this breathtaking setting, before enjoying dinner at a restaurant of your choice.

Day Six - The Datai, Langkawi

Continue to indulge in the wonders of The Datai Langkawi at your leisure. Encounter dusky langurs, tokay geckos, and great hornbills in the rainforest, take a leisurely stroll down a private footpath to the pristine white-sand beach, or unwind with a traditional Malay treatment at The Spa.

As evening falls, join us for a final night of celebration. Enjoy cocktails in a breathtaking beachside setting before sitting down to an intimate gala dinner. With the sun setting over the Andaman Sea as your backdrop, it promises to be a truly enchanting finale to your journey.

Day Six - The Datai, Langkawi

As your journey draws to a close, savour a leisurely breakfast at The Datai before checking out. A private limousine will then take you to Langkawi Airport for your onward journey.
