SINGAPORE - KUALA LUMPUR The recognisable green and gold carriages of the Eastern & Oriental Express luxury sleeper train pull into Singapore Woodlands Railway Station, your steward will be at hand to board you onto the train and show you to your cool air-conditioned cabin, complete with delicate Malaysian embroidery, Thai silks and gorgeous cherrywood panelling. This will be your sanctuary for the next three nights.
KUALA LUMPUR - LANGKAWI You will be able to enjoy some amazing scenery as you take breakfast in the Dining Car, passing by the window you will be able to take in the views of western Malaysia. Just after lunch you will alight at Alor Setar Station, where you will take a short boat trip to the Pulau Payar Marine Park in Langkawi. Here you will experience some of the most vibrant sea-life the world has to offer. You will enjoy a delightful luxury picnic (various options are available) and upon tantalising your tastebuds you will then have the opportunity to enjoy a wellness treatment or experience, such as tai chi, paddle boarding, meditation, a massage or snorkelling. There will be a BBQ and cocktails on offer as you enjoy the setting of paradise. Dinner will be taken back on the train in the evening and there will be local entertainment to enjoy in the Piano Bar Car throughout the evening.
WEST-COAST LINE - BUTTERWORTH There will be a selection of excursions to choose from when you arrive at Penang Island; visit a spice shop, a traditional grocery store and discover Peranakan cooking. You will be able to select local ingredients and attempt to cook some of the local dishes. Or, you can take a tour of the Georgetown Old Quarter and explore the sublime temples as well as visit an opera and puppet house and a contemporary studio. Alternatively, with a tri-shaw driver and map, explore the Georgetown at your own pace.
You will board the Eastern & Oriental Express for lunch, after which you can relax before evening, where there will be local entertainment and delicious cuisine. The train will travel through Kuala Lumpar around mid-night and if you can, it's worth staying up to see.
JOHOR - SINGAPORE In the morning you will take breakfast as you choose, either in the dining car or your cabin. You'll travel through Johor, which is well known for it's rainforest and beaches. You'll arrive into Singapore at mid-morning on the final day of your luxury train journey aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express where your concludes at Woodlands Railway Station.
Measuring 5.8sq m. Traditional Pullman style cabins which your steward will convert to a seating arrangement during the day and an upper and lower berth at night. The Pullman Cabins have en-suite shower, a toilet, personal safe and hair dryer. All Pullman Cabins have air conditioning.
Measuring 7.8sq m. Cabins are converted during the day by your steward to a seating arrangement, whilst for night your steward will convert the State Cabin to two single, floor level beds. The State Cabins have en-suite shower, a toilet, personal safe and hair dryer. All State Cabins have air conditioning.
Measuring 11.6sq m. Daytime seating is converted by your steward to two single beds at floor level for night. The daytime configuration allows for ample room to entertain. Presidential Cabins are fully air-conditioned and have an en-suite shower, toilet, hair dryer, personal safe and CD player, along with a complimentary mini bar and WiFi.
