DAY ONE - ISTANBUL

Step into the enchanting city of Istanbul, where East blends with West in a stunning mosaic of history, culture, and architecture. Upon arrival, you'll be warmly welcomed and taken to your luxurious five-star accommodation, the Four Seasons Sultanahmet (or a similar venue).

In the evening, delight in a lavish welcome reception dinner, providing an ideal atmosphere to connect with your fellow travellers before you embark on this adventure together.

DAY TWO & THREE - ISTANBUL

Your Istanbul adventure begins at the Hippodrome Square, the vibrant center of Byzantium, where emperors and crowds alike were once entertained by thrilling chariot races. Next, visit the Blue Mosque, a breathtaking architectural masterpiece featuring six minarets and decorated with over 20,000 blue tiles. Following this, explore the extraordinary Hagia Sophia, a magnificent building that has transitioned from cathedral to mosque and now serves as a museum, highlighting the blend of Christian and Islamic artistry.

After lunch at Deraliye Restaurant -known for its traditional Ottoman cuisine - you will explore the opulence of Topkapi Palace, which once served as the residence of the Ottoman sultans. Discover the enchanting Underground Cistern, a stunning yet eerie feat of ancient engineering. Before concluding the day with a private Bosphorus cruise, take in Istanbul’s skyline from a different angle, drifting past luxurious palaces, colorful waterfront mansions, and historic fortresses.

As the sun sets, lose yourself in the captivating scents of the Spice Market, then sit down for dinner at the renowned Hamdi Restaurant, which offers breathtaking views over the Golden Horn and the Bosphorus.

On Day 3, after a leisurely lunch, you will be transported to board the Golden Eagle Danube Express, where a lavish cabin awaits you, promising a restful afternoon and evening as you continue our journey.

DAY FOUR - IZMIR & EPHESUS

On the morning of day 4, wake to the vibrancy of Izmir, one of Turkey’s key port cities, rich in Greek, Roman, and Ottoman influences. After exploring Agora, a remarkably preserved marketplace from the Roman period, the adventure continues to the legendary ancient city of Ephesus.

Stroll along the marble streets, where magnificent temples, amphitheaters, and the Library of Celsus stand as a testament to the city’s former splendour as a major hub of the ancient Mediterranean. Take a glimpse into the past as you walk in the footsteps of the philosopher Heraclitus. Following this captivating tour, you’ll board the train once again,  onwards to your next destination.

DAY FIVE - DENIZLI - HIERAPOLIS & LAODICEA

Arrive in Denizli for an immersive day exploring the captivating ruins of Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Perched atop renowned hot springs, this Greco-Roman city once served as a hub for spirituality and healing. Wander through the ancient necropolis and admire the impressive theatre, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

Next, you'll visit Laodicea, another significant ancient city that played a crucial role in early Christian history and was celebrated for its wealth and textiles. The contrast between the sacred history and the quiet ruins will leave a lasting impression on your spirit.

DAY SIX - ANKARA

Wake up in the vivacious capital city of Ankara, a lively metropolis that embodies the heartbeat of modern Turkey. Your journey will take you to the Museum of Anatolian Civilisations, a remarkable collection of artifacts that chronicles the history of this region's civilizations, from the earliest Neolithic communities to the Hittites and beyond.

Following that, pay your respects to Turkey's founding father at the magnificent Mausoleum of Ataturk. Perched on a hill, this monumental site serves not only as a tribute to one of history’s great leaders but also as an architectural wonder, reflecting the strength and aspirations of a newly established nation. Enjoy lunch at the charming Divan Çukurhan, a historic inn transformed into a luxurious hotel, before boarding your train again.

DAY SEVEN - CAPPADOCIA

Savour your last onboard breakfast before reaching Kayseri and transferring to the extraordinary Cappadocia, a destination unlike any other on the planet. The stunning landscapes have been shaped over thousands of years by volcanic activity and erosion, resulting in enchanting rock formations and extensive cave systems. Your adventure will kick off with a visit to the Ozkonak Underground City, an intriguing subterranean maze that once provided refuge for entire communities against invaders.

Indulge in a delightful lunch at Bizim Ev Restaurant, then explore the enchanting Pasabag and Devrent Valleys, where fairy chimneys and surreal vistas whisk you away to a different realm. As the day winds down, unwind in your luxurious hotel and get ready for a relaxing evening.

DAY EIGHT - CAPPADOCIA

Your day starts with an optional hot-air balloon ride, offering an unforgettable experience and unmatched views. As dawn breaks, gently float over Cappadocia's stunning landscapes, witnessing the sun rise and bathe the fairytale valleys below in golden light. This extraordinary experience provides a unique perspective on the natural beauty of the region.

Following this thrilling start to the day, your journey continues with a visit to the Goreme Open Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring some of the world's most exquisite rock-cut churches, adorned with ancient frescoes. The day will also include stops at Pigeon Valley, Uchisar, and Ortahisar towns, culminating in a sumptuous farewell dinner at the magnificent Maara Konak.

DAY NINE - CAPPADOCIA

As your adventure comes to a close, enjoy a delicious breakfast before saying goodbye to the enchanting landscapes of Cappadocia. You'll be transferred to the airport, but while your journey may be ending, the memories and treasures of Turkey will stay with you always.
