Your journey begins as you depart Edinburgh Waverley Station and head across the magnificent Forth Railway Bridge. The afternoon is yours to do as you wish on board; explore the train, relax in your private quarters, or head to the Observation Car and take in the stunning scenery. A leisurely afternoon tea is followed later that evening by an informal dinner
Leave Keith and head towards Inverness, where the ever-changing landscapes grow ever more magnificent. Lunch is served as you head towards Kyle of Lochalsh on one of the most scenic railway routes in the UK. When the train arrives at Strathcarron, you can choose between a tour of the magnificent Attadale Gardens or to remain on the train to Plockton to spot wild seals and enjoy a peaceful walk in the woods. A formal dinner awaits this evening, followed by a nightcap and live performance in the bar car.
If you wish, you can start your day with an early stroll across the bridge to the Isle of Skye before enjoying a freshly prepared breakfast as the train meanders back past Plockton. Disembark in Garve for boutique shopping or a guided Highland storyteller walk to Silver Bridge. Lunch is served en route to Carrbridge, followed by an exclusive private tour of Ballindalloch Castle or a bespoke distillery experience. Rejoin the train at Boat of Garten for a gourmet dinner accompanied by captivating Highland folklore.
Journey by private coach to the majestic Rothiemurchus Estate in the heart of the Cairngorms for fly-fishing, clay-pigeon shooting, or a guided estate tour. Board again at Kingussie for lunch as you travel towards Dunkeld, where you can explore historic Glamis Castle or visit Pitlochry and the Blair Athol Distillery. Rejoin the train in Perth for a magnificent gala dinner and evening festivities, before spending your final night aboard in Dundee.

This is done so the operators can add you to their guest list, send you your tickets and ensure the meals served to you onboard meet your dietary requirements. By booking with LuxuryTrainTickets.com, you are agreeing that you allow such necessary details to be shared with the operators under the cause of legitimate interest. There are a limited number of private tables and cabin types onboard. While we keep our website updated regularly, there may be occasions when private tables or cabin types become fully booked meaning we are unable to fulfil your booking requirements. Should this be the case, we will contact you to discuss alternative options and refund any payments made.
We have the right to refuse the request of a deposit when a journey is scheduled to depart in less than 16 weeks. If you choose to book with a deposit you must pay the remaining balance in full 15 weeks before departure at the latest. Should you fail to pay the remaining balance 15 weeks prior to departure, you will forfeit your deposit and your booking. Deposits are accepted by request. Most journeys require a 25% deposit to secure a booking however some specialist journeys do require a 50% deposit. Please contact us for confirmation.
Tickets are sent electronically around 5 days before departure. You will not receive tickets or any form of 'gift pack' in the post. This is in an attempt to reduce paper use and do our part for the environment.
