Friday: London – Bishops Lydeard
In the mid-afternoon, step on board the Britannic Explorer at London Victoria Station. Settle into your stylish contemporary suite and appreciate the refined design details. Soon, the first of many culinary delights is served—enjoy a traditional Cornish Afternoon Tea while admiring scenic views through your window.
Your journey continues through the picturesque North Wessex Downs and the charming Somerset market towns of Frome and Taunton. As evening arrives, you will reach the West Somerset Railway, a heritage line offering 20 miles of countryside views towards Dunster.
Head to the bar to socialise with fellow guests over signature cocktails before taking your seat in the elegant restaurant car for a dinner crafted by renowned chef Simon Rogan. As the Chef Patron of three-Michelin-starred L’Enclume, he is a pioneer of farm-to-fork cuisine, creating dishes inspired by seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and innovative flavours.

Saturday: Bishops Lydeard – Penzance – Fowey
Savour a relaxed brunch this morning as you glide through the English countryside. Today’s route takes you to the south coast of Devon, where you join the celebrated Riviera Line. This scenic railway hugs the coastline, offering beautiful ocean views from charming towns such as Teignmouth and along the iconic Dawlish Sea Wall.
Bypassing Dartmoor National Park to reach Plymouth, the journey continues into Cornwall—locally known as Kernow. The final stretch to Penzance is equally enchanting, revealing glittering sea vistas and soft Cornish light as you pass St Austell and Truro.
After lunch, choose to disembark at St Erth to explore the artistic haven of St Ives, or continue to Penzance for a guided tour of the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens. Here, you can experience James Turrell’s Aqua Oscura installation, offering a mesmerising perspective of sky and canopy from a former Victorian water tank. Afterwards, enjoy a private Cornish wine tasting overlooking the picturesque St Michael’s Mount.

Sunday: Fowey – Bruton
This morning, select from a variety of activities in and around the charming harbour town of Fowey and the Lostwithiel area, known for ancient heritage and beautiful gardens. Options include coastal hikes, private boat tours and other tailored experiences.
Afterwards, return to the train in Fowey and relax as you journey to the delightful Somerset market town of Bruton. Here, enjoy a private after-hours tour of the renowned Hauser & Wirth contemporary art gallery, followed by a drinks reception and an exclusive dinner. The train rests overnight on the peaceful East Somerset Railway.
Monday: Castle Cary – London
Breakfast is served as the train begins its return journey to London. You will arrive at Victoria Station in the early morning, feeling refreshed and ready to start your day.

We will contact you one to 10 working days after you have paid to confirm your booking, take further details of those travelling and send your itinerary. In the rare instance your booking cannot be fulfilled for any reason, such as the operator cancelling a journey or anything else beyond our control, we will be in touch with alternative options or will refund your payment.
All prices shown are for one adult ticket. Sleeper journeys are based on two adults sharing accommodation. Single occupancy of cabins may incur additional charge.

As an authorised ticketing agent of luxury train journeys, we may need to pass some of your details (such as your name and dietary requirements) on to the train operators in order to complete your booking. This is done so the operators can add you to their guest list, send you your tickets and ensure the meals served to you onboard meet your dietary requirements. By booking with LuxuryTrainTickets.com, you are agreeing that you allow such necessary details to be shared with the operators under the cause of legitimate interest. There are a limited number of private tables and cabin types onboard. While we keep our website updated regularly, there may be occasions when private tables or cabin types become fully booked meaning we are unable to fulfil your booking requirements. Should this be the case, we will contact you to discuss alternative options and refund any payments made.
We have the right to refuse the request of a deposit when a journey is scheduled to depart in less than 16 weeks. If you choose to book with a deposit you must pay the remaining balance in full 15 weeks before departure at the latest. Should you fail to pay the remaining balance 15 weeks prior to departure, you will forfeit your deposit and your booking. Deposits are accepted by request. Most journeys require a 25% deposit to secure a booking however some specialist journeys do require a 50% deposit. Please contact us for confirmation.
Tickets are sent electronically around 5 days before departure. You will not receive tickets or any form of 'gift pack' in the post. This is in an attempt to reduce paper use and do our part for the environment.
