The Vibe: For those who prefer their mysteries cloaked by the cover of darkness, this dinner service offers a uniquely glamorous and dramatic atmosphere. As the sun sets and the vintage lamps cast a warm glow through the train, guests are invited to indulge in a lavish evening feast and meet an array of colourful characters. (Just make sure not to trust any of them!)
The Experience
Our Murder Mystery Journeys are designed to offer a seamless blend of immersive theatre and luxurious fine dining. You’re not just watching a performance; you’re part of it! Here is what you can expect from the moment you arrive at the station.
The Welcome. Your adventure begins at the British Pullman Lounge at London Victoria Station. Once you have checked in at the desk, enjoy a seasonal refreshment and relax before boarding the train. Before long, you’ll be invited onto the platform (you may even see some of the characters wandering around). Step on board and settle into your plush armchair with a perfectly chilled glass of champagne.
The Investigation. Shortly after departure, a terrible crime is revealed. A cast of professional actors dressed in stunning period attire will move through the carriages. They’ll introduce themselves, drop cryptic hints, and perhaps even accuse one another. It is up to you to observe and interrogate the suspects when they visit your table. You will be able to take notes throughout. Prizes for the best detectives will be given out at the end.
Dining. While you’re busy unravelling the mystery, the kitchen team will be busy crafting a delicious seasonal meal. Over the course of the trip, you will be served a five-course menu crafted from the finest British ingredients. The dining experience is paced perfectly alongside the theatrical plot, accompanied by the sommelier’s hand-picked wines.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I dress up? Absolutely! The British Pullman has a smart-casual dress code to maintain the elegant atmosphere of the train. While you are not required to wear period costumes, many of our guests in the past have loved to lean into the 1920s/1930s theme. Please note that jeans, trainers, and T-Shirts are not permitted.
Are the storylines always the same? Not at all. The amazing team behind the stories is Private Drama Events, and they develop a different story and new characters every year. This means that returning guests will face a completely fresh case to solve each time. We keep the specific plot details under wraps to ensure maximum suspense on the day.
Can we book as a group? Of course. These murder mysteries are perfect for group celebrations. The train features various table configurations, including tables for two, three and four. Entire carriages can also be reserved for larger groups. Our reservations team will happily assist with larger party arrangements.
