Here at LuxuryTrainTickets.com, we are delighted to announce our newest partnership with SJourney: The First Luxury Train in Vietnam.
SJourney is redefining Vietnamese exploration. The traditional way to discover the wonders of this beautiful country is with multiple hotel stays and various means of transportation, and as exciting as this can be, sometimes it can be tiring. With SJourney, you can unpack your bags once and relax in luxurious comfort as Vietnam’s breathtaking landscapes unfold before you.
The creation of this remarkable train is closely interwoven with Vietnam’s own story. Vietnam’s railway network has a long and eventful past, dating back to the colonial era and playing a vital role during the resistance against French and American forces. Despite its historical significance, the country’s railways had never evolved into a luxury travel experience — until now.
The founder of SJourney, Mr Son, has always been passionate not only about travel, but engineering and design, too. During his own adventures across the globe, he noticed how other nations celebrated their landscapes and heritage through luxury rail travel, while Vietnam had yet to do the same. Mr Son quickly realised that Vietnam - with its stunning scenery, world-renowned cuisine, and established rail routes - was the perfect country to travel through by train.
Mr Son’s vision was to create an experience that not only showcased the country’s natural beauty but also immersed guests in its rich culture and history. The result is SJourney — a name that represents a voyage beyond the ordinary, redefining travel in Vietnam with elegance, authenticity, and exceptional service.
Train Overview
There are 13 carriages on the train, including 8 sleeping carriages (21 Deluxe cabins + 1 Presidential Suite) and 5 functional carriages (1 lounge, 1 observation carriage, 1 restaurant, 1 spa cabin, and 1 smoking cabin). The capacity is 44 passengers. Its design is heavily influenced by the Indochine style, reminiscent of the golden age of travel in the 1930s, when luxury trains like the Trans-Indochina connected different regions of Southeast Asia.
