Prices vary by route, cabin type and departure date. Twin Cabins on popular European routes start from several thousand pounds per person, with Grand Suites commanding a significant premium. Peak summer departures and special routes such as Paris to Istanbul are priced higher and sell out fastest. Contact our team for current pricing on your preferred dates.
The VSOE operates a wide range of European routes including Paris to Venice, Paris to Istanbul (once yearly), London to Venice via Eurostar connection, and seasonal special departures to cities including Prague, Budapest, Vienna and the Amalfi Coast. Classic Cabins are the standard accommodation — elegantly appointed twin cabins that convert to doubles at night. Deluxe Cabins offer more space and enhanced décor. Grand Suites are the pinnacle: private double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a sitting area, and exclusive design by names including Dior and Missoni. Grand Suites are limited and sell out well in advance.
Your ticket includes private cabin accommodation, all gourmet meals in the restaurant cars, drinks with meals, and access to the bar car throughout the journey. Some special departures include exclusive destination experiences. Spa treatments and additional drinks are available to purchase on board.
Smart casual during the day, jeans are not permitted at any time. Formal or black-tie attire is expected for dinner in the restaurant cars. Many guests dress in 1920s or 1930s style in keeping with the train's golden age character. When in doubt, overdress rather than underdress.
The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is designed primarily as an adult experience. Children are generally not recommended given the formal atmosphere, limited children's facilities, and the nature of shared dining carriages. Contact our team before booking if travelling with younger guests.
